Requiem for the clowns
Tedious Media Personality 946 perched on their soapbox, reveling in the pomp and circumstance and glamour of the evening. A self-satisfied grin split their nondescript face.
“We’re all just so courageous and unbiased, right?!” they crooned adoringly. The applause from the homogenous crowd was rapturous. “I mean, how were we supposed to know a lamebrained android was in charge for the last four years?! They sure fooled us!”
The audience whooped and hollered, enraptured with themselves. TMP 946 basked in the ovation. Surely, the American people would recognize their superiority now.
“Yes!” they smugly proclaimed, “Only we can preserve democracy!”
