Talk about stoopid.

Kidnap Caroline, hunting for Everett, but don't leave any forwarding address or a note for him.

How do they expect to find him? How did they figure he'd know who they were?

I like your style, I was only grousing about the stupid outlaws.

Ha, ALL will be revealed!

I mean, probably.

This felt tense, like the build up of "High Noon" or "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance". I can't wait to read more.

Thank you so much! As I was writing, I was a bit worried this part might not move the plot forward a whole lot.

Excellent continuation, I esp. liked the gritty dialogue, very cinematic! Showdown imminent. Good s(t)uff!

Thanks, man! Can't believe it's been a whole month since I wrote this! Need to get my head back in the game so my readers don't riot from their impatience and dissatisfaction.

I was gonna say, where's part 3? 😅 It's a good problem to have, though. Also, as a bit of a Western and Deadwood fan, this tickles the right spot. I haven't seen much western on here, then again, finding anything on Substack related to fiction is a quest in itself! ;)

The new ending is great, Josh and it does feel more of a natural stopping point now. It was good to re-read the first part again anyway just to remind myself how much I enjoy this character. This will keep me going for a wee while 😁

Really excellent work again 👍🏼

Yeah, I always felt like the original ending was sort of abrupt and unnatural. I've been stuck for so long trying to get Part 3 going, and it occurred to me this afternoon that I should just take what I had so far and expand on Part 2, which gives me a clean slate for the next installment.

I'm intrigued by the story so far. Will look forward to the next part eagerly. Peace.
