You're right though, margarine is gross and NOT BUTTER. I WILL NOT HAVE IT IN MY HOUSE. YOU WILL EAT THE DELICIOUS BUTTER!

Fun micro-fiction 😁

Still traumatized to this day from my parents making me eat margarine as a kid 😭

I'm sorry you had to live through that, a butter-less life is tough. I hope you can work through it with a good quality butter to guide you. 😂

The good news is that we’re all adults now, so we can eat as much butter AS WE WANT!

You better believe this is how I live my life nowadays.

We were strictly a margarine household, because it was cheaper. Now it's butter all the way. I'm convinced that swindling America into giving up real butter and lard in exchange for margarine and Crisco is one of the main culprits behind the obesity epidemic and 90% of our collective health problems.

That was the exact same reason my parents went for margarine over butter. Although, I don't think the price difference was really all that drastic, so I attribute a lot of it to Boomer's bizarre obsession with processed substitutes of the real thing (margarine vs butter, American cheese vs cheddar, hot dogs vs real sausage, etc.).

Also, I agree with you 100% about the underlying cause of our country's health issues.

You're right, that is the worst part.

There shall be no margarine in my house. Only butter, pure and delicious and oh so divine once you get it to that perfectly browned point in the pan, shall be permitted. Plus there's so much you can do with butter that you can't do with margarine just by virtue of compound butter being a thing.

Garlic and herb butter. Lemon butter. Peppered butter. Rosemary butter. Chinese five spice butter. Ginger butter. Caramelized onion butter. Need I go on?

I can't believe I ever believed that margarine was better than butter. But that was 40-50-60 years ago. And the same goes with coffee, eggs, cholesterol and fats being bad. All lies.

Factually correct, but a 5th Commandment violation.
