This was a great story, which battle were you inspired by? There's clear inspiration, I'm gonna bet that it was taken from one of the Greek campaigns, or one of the battles from the Gallic Wars.
Wow, I'm honestly surprised you liked this story! I really don't think it's one of my best. This story is basically a fantasy mash-up of Thermopylae and Stirling Bridge, which are 2 of my favorite historical battles.
I knew it was Thermopylae, so called it! My biggest problem was Legionnaires losing to Hoplites, hahaha but that said I enjoy a good battle scene. I thought this was enjoyable and got some good lore out of it, and got to learn how Attilius is holding up. So I'm happy, can't wait for Ch 3.
Only thing is after reading 10 stories or thereabouts to-day I've a head ache and want to go to bed haha.
Thanks very much! I'm very glad you enjoyed this story. The Battle of Stirling Bridge from the First War of Scottish Independence was a major influence.

Enjoyed reading the tactical details. Was this based on a historical battle?
