Great list Josh 👍🏼

And a reminder I should watch Pan’s Labyrinth and The Town again soon 🤔

The less said about there not being 100 great movies made in the last 25 years, the better 🙄

I mean you didn’t even mention The Desolation of Smaug ….. 😁

Very good (just not capital G great) list! Way, way too many superhero movies though. Only Greats are Dark Knight and Incredibles. You could persuade me the Sam Raimi Spidermans and other Nolans maaaaybe. I liked your deeper cuts like Mud, Brick, and 3:10 to Yuma. Also Emperor's New Groove being a 2000 movie makes me need to revise my own list, crap.

I can't stand The Incredibles, to be quite honest. It's so BORING and tedious.

I think it's characters are nuanced and realistic compared to marvel supers. Marvel supers fight crime and save the world because that's what heroes do. There's very little to explain their motivation. Sure they were mistreated as a kid--orphaned, experimented on, picked on at school, whatever. How does that translate into their personally engaging with this threat to their, their loved ones, or the world's existence?

In the Incredibles, Bob and Helen have different reasons for donning the--NO CAPES!!!--the, uh, mask. Bob wants to be great; hero-ing is his outlet. Helen is more complicated; her family's wellbeing is her top priority, which means for a while she wont' jeopardize the new beginning they've put together until she needs to go save Bob. It's a much more grown-up movie than most other superhero flicks.

Serenity was excellent. I'd also add Deep Impact, Black Panther (that scene when it pans up the cliff at his first challenge is just cool), and Greenland, among my favorites.

Haven't seen Greenland or Deep Impact, but I did not like Black Panther, tbqh (though Killmonger was a great "villain").

Good list, though personally, I'd have The Passion on there, as well as 13 Hours, Master and Commander, and World War Z, since I like those last two. And Quizshow depending on when it came out

Believe it or not, Master and Commander IS on there 😉

13 Hours was pretty good, but I wouldn't consider it one of the best of the last 25 years. And, personally, I loathe World War Z 😬

Must have missed it, lol. They're two of my favorites at any rate, but to each his own. Is signs on there? Cuz that really is one of the best movies that have come out.

No, I'm not the biggest fan of that movie either. I thought it was alright when I was younger, but I haven't watched it in years.

It saddens me that Good Will Hunting isn't on this list, but it came out in '97 so it doesn't technically qualify. That's what I'll tell myself. 🥲

Gotta add The Incredibles and Toy Story 3 which I think are the best animated films ever

Toy Story 3 is OKAY. I'm not a fan of The Incredibles, though: way overrated, imo.
